2018 Lexus RX is expected at Tokyo motor show
According to Japan's Mag-X magazine, the midsize 2018 Lexus RX is going to come with a third row of seats in addition to a few additional inches of sheetmetal just to take on moderately larger vehicles, including the Volkswagen Atlas, the Infiniti QX60 and the Volvo XC90. The seven-seat variant is supposed to be offered along with the regular five-seat RX in the beginning of next year after its debut this autumn at the Tokyo motor show.
Recent spy images and Mag-X's illustration drop a hint that the 2018 Lexus RX will need more than just an additional row of seats. For instance, the vehicle’s rear cargo section will be probably stretched and provided with a taller roof to give third-row detainees extra headroom, simultaneously saving some cargo space between the third row and also the tailgate.
No one expects it to come with a longer wheelbase, and the extra room will be created using a bulbous rear compartment. Some auto experts state that capable of transporting seven adults, the vehicle can’t accommodate their luggage. However, the passengers could hold their luggage in their laps.
